«Goodness, this cannot be genuine!» raced through her thoughts. Briefly, her sight dimmed. It felt as if the earth was shifting beneath her stance.
Her digits shook while she delicately traced them across the uppermost stack. «Authentic currency,» she mused, «enormous stacks of authentic currency.» Emily surveyed the area once more, anticipating a deception.
Possibly it’s a joke of some sort? Yet still no individuals nearby. She hoisted the knapsack onto her arm and rushed toward her residence. Beneath the burden of the vast fortune, the knapsack tugged at her arm.
